50 ANOS DO MOVIMENTO DE RECONCEITUAÇÃO DO SERVIÇO SOCIAL NA AMÉRICA LATINA: aconstruçãoda alternativa crítica e a resistência contra o atual avanço do conservadorismo

Resumo

O Movimento de Reconceituação do Serviço Social na América Latina, deflagrado em 1965, em meio aos movimentos por mudanças e a reação contrarrevolucionária, constitui-se um marco histórico nessa profissão. Desencadeou a crítica ao Serviço Social Tradicional e contribuiu para a construção da alternativa crítica de orientação marxista. Este trabalho tem como objetivos fazer indicações históricas desse movimento, destacando: sujeitos e avanços do Serviço Social; apontar a tendência à perda de espaço da teoria crítica marxista no atual avanço do conservadorismo na América Latina e a resistência dos profissionais e estudantes de Serviço Social como necessidade à sustentação da alternativa crítica, particularizando a defesa do projeto ético-político profissional no Brasil. Sob a orientação do método histórico, a elaboração utiliza revisão bibliográfica e registros da memória de vivência da autora. As considerações finais ressaltam a vinculação do Serviço Social aos interesses das classes exploradas e humilhadas, em efetivo compromisso com a necessidade histórica de emancipação, como o mais importante dos legados do movimento ao Serviço Social na América Latina.

50 YEARS OF THE RECONCEPTUALIZATION MOVEMENT OF SOCIAL WORK IN LATIN AMERICA: the construction of a critical alternative and the resistance against the current advance of conservatism Abstract: The Reconceptualization Movement of Social Work in Latin America, broke out in 1965, among the movements for change and counterrevolutionary reaction, constitutes a mark in this profession. It triggered the criticism of the traditional social work and also contributed to build up a Marxist oriented critical alternative. This study aims at making historical indications of this movement, highlighting topics such as: subjects and advances of Social Work; point out the tendency of a loss of space of the Marxist critical theory in the current advance of conservatism in Latin America and the resistance of professionals and students of Social Work as a need to support critical alternative, individualizing the defense of the professional ethical-political project in Brazil. Under the guidance of the historical method, the development uses literature review and records of the memories of the author's experience in life. The final considerations emphasize the linkage of Social Work to the interests of the exploited and humiliated classes, in effective commitment to the historical need for emancipation, as the most important of the movement's legacy to Social Work in Latin America.
